Biotin Supplement- Excitement all gone

Yea i get people talk about hair supplements and all the good things it can do for them,since i hate to take pills of any kind i didn’t even bother for any. The reviews are always too good and makes me want to try though.

I spent some time checking videos of naturalistas who take hair supplements on YouTube,some blogs and everywhere i can read up about it before i embark on it if i have to. There was this particular one that i came across a lot,yes Biotin! Apart from the hair growth,it promotes a healthier skin,helps the nails and lashes grow out well,sounds interesting to me.I have really soft nails,cant grow them out as much as i want because they keep breaking no matter how much i try to take care of it and i decided to try this.It was quite difficult for me to get it initially,went to the major drug stores the ones i feel should have it and the ones i was sure would never have just to use up my chances.The search went on for months and eventually i didn’t care so much anymore.Recently i went on a search again and i got it.

It’s always advisable to start on a lesser dosage but i saw a YouTube video of a naturalista who started out with a 5000mcg and i wanted to get same.(since i have decided to take,i i felt i should do it well maybe). It’s pretty harmless if you take too much though, as it will just pass through your urine. Unfortunately i couldn’t find the 5000mcg,i got the GNC Biotin 2500mcg and it has 60 capsules in it.

it’s exactly 7days i bought this and i haven’t broken the seal yet,all the rush and excitement to get this drug isn’t in me anymore.As good as Biotin may be,it may also cause breakouts on the face.Biotin is water soluble and you need to take more water than usual when you are on this,i don’t take as much water as i should in a day which is about 8 glasses(its bad i know!) taking more is going to be difficult. Since i don’t wish to deal with acne now,am working on my water consumption first.Literally,i have a water drinking schedule and i hope to improve soon so  i can start my biotin supplement and enjoy all the benefits as well. I will put an update when i start taking it.

    I’ve been taking Biotin for a couple weeks now and I like it. Drinking more water has been hard for me but I’ve made a habit of carrying a water bottle with me at all times. I have not noticed any breakouts or acne, but then again that has never really been a problem for me. Let me know how it turns out for you!

  2. I also read about Biotin. Today I went out and did some shopping and I bought the GNC Hair Nails and Skin supplements that has 1200mcg of Biotin in them. I workout a lot, so I already drink almost a gallon of water a day, so hopefully this will prevent any acne. I will post on my blog about my results.

  3. I have acne prone skin…I pretty much can keep it under control. I drink plenty of water so I didn’t think biotin would break me out…but it did…I switched to hairfinity…no breakouts…and I’ve seen GROWTH! 😉
